Patchouli—Pogostemon cablin

Antianxiety, Antibacterial, Antidepressant, Antifungal, Anti-inflammatory, Calmative, Cicatrizant, Insect repellent, Sedative, Wound healing

Patchouli is extremely grounding and balancing, able to help with depression and anxiety. It can also create an amorous atmosphere. It is used successfully as an insect repellent and to treat insect bites. Given its diuretic properties, you can use this in blends for cellulite, water retention, and easing constipation. It is a friend of the skin, being an active tissue regenerator, stimulating the growth of new skin cells. It will help repair scars and heal wounds. Patchouli can be used for constipation and other digestive challenges. Diffusing patchouli will encourage a quiet, grounding atmosphere, encouraging a supportive energy. Patchouli can be applied neat (undiluted) topically for an insect bite. Add to your skin moisturizers and lotions to support skin rejuvenation and health.

Do not use patchouli with elderly or anorexic people who have lost their appetite. Consult your healthcare provider if you’re pregnant, nursing, on medications, or being treated for other health challenges. Dilute with a carrier oil before each use (it may be used neat in small quantity). For sensitive skin, dilution is recommended. Keep out of reach of children. Store in a dark glass bottle, tightly capped, and in a cool place. Shelf life is twenty years.
